The Ankeny Community Foundation encourages, promotes, and facilitates philanthropy for local community betterment through grant-making and partnerships utilizing three field of interest funds: Educate Ankeny, Enhance Ankeny & Serve Ankeny. Proceeds from this event will fund these initiatives.

The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, public charity that allows people to establish a fund or contribute to an already existing fund that will benefit other non-profit organizations in the area, assuring that your charitable dollars address areas of greatest community need.

Endow Iowa Tax Credit Program
Giving through the community foundation to the causes you care about is rewarding—in more ways than one. Your gift creates lasting change in the community, and the Endow Iowa Tax Credit Program offers you generous tax incentives to make it easier for you to give more for less.
Since 2003, more than $115 million has been invested in community foundations through Endow Iowa, improving residents’ lives both now and for years to come.
How does the Endow Iowa Tax Credit Program work?
The program provides state income tax credits to individuals, businesses, or financial institutions that donate money to a permanent endowment fund at a community foundation that meets national standards, like the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines, which houses Ankeny Community Foundation’s fund.
The tax credit is for 25% of the amount of the donation, up to a maximum amount of $100,000 credit cap per Iowa taxpayer in addition to the normal federal tax deduction for charitable gifts. All qualified donors who apply for and receive the tax credit can carry forward that credit for up to five years after the year the donation was made. *Note: For 2023, donors must donate and apply for the tax credits as soon as possible — unlike in previous years, no waitlist will exist after funding for 2023 is fulfilled, and all donors who were on a waitlist will have their credits processed and eligible for tax credit use for 2023.
